Hey All!

Just noticed the site, thought I'd check it out. I'm a developer, I work professionally creating desktop and web applications.  In my "spare" time, I make browser-based games.

I've made 4-5 games now to date with the latest being an RPG game which sports lots of MS Ajax and soon to use MS SilverLight to enhance the interface for the user.

I generally am known as "Chu" to those who play my games, so I'll continue the tradition here. Smiley

Glad to be around!

Ahh, nice! Did that used to be called something else, because I remember a microsoft language in development for the same sort of thing but it had a different name  Huh

In any case, hi! Always nice to see more people to talk to Smiley

Easiest way to describe it is to call it Flash I guess Smiley  However, as an ASP.NET coder, it's got some very cool features. You can debug the client side code from within visual studio, having that is like a coders dream come true.

Ah, I think it used to be called Microsoft XAML editor before someone came up with the flashy name.

Microsoft's Silverlight is a Flash alternative and the only way its affiliated with Google is by way of some Microsoft-Google advertising deal I believe

Anyways, I've been using Silverlight for about a year now and its fantastic to use, especially if you are developing with asp.net because they are based on the same .net framework more or less. I wrote http://www.battleballz.com as my first small test project a while back, which shows that it can do some nice sprite based games. I'm currently working on a large and ambitious social networking app in Silverlight and asp.net that I hope to beta very soon. After that Im going back to web gamdev as its my new passion (I'm addicted to facebook games Smiley) and I believe that theres low-pressure-dont-have-to-bow-down-to-publisher-demand gold to be found in casual web game development Cheesy
